Update from Al Gross: We took
Marge
to Aurora St Lukes Hospital End of Life Unit. She is very bad. I don't think she will make it through
the week. She stopped eating and drinking today. I had the nurses here from the Hospice Unit and they
advised that she go to the hospital. Marge agreed. She is quite lucid, although she has been on morphine for
three or four days which helps. She is down to under 70 lbs. I had not left her side for a few days now. The
minute I would leave (when I thought she was sleeping) she would call out my name saying "don't leave I
am scared").

Marge Gross
entered Hospice, Home Care starting Saturday, February 21, 2026. She has been ill for some time. Please keep
Marge in your prayers.

Claudine Bates's Post
Claudine Bates:
Happy Re-birthday to me!! I can't believe I get to celebrate 2 years since my stem cell transplant! I
have been reflecting a lot lately and am in awe of how far I have come on this journey and the progress I
have made, despite some days being tougher than others. I'm grateful for every moment I've been
given and for the second chance to live life. It's not always easy to share my struggles, but I'm
learning to embrace the ups and downs, and to find the silver lining in every challenge. This journey has
been a rollercoaster, especially with my unrealistic expectations of where I feel like I should be on my
healing journey versus where I am really at. Every day is different and some are easier than others, but I
try taking it one moment at a time and learning to accept my new normal with patience and self-compassion.
On top of the daily neuropathy that has varying levels of severity and inconsistent energy, one of the
biggest hurdles is overcoming a back injury that happened in February and left me struggling to walk. It
took months to get in to see a doctor and get treatment. It took finding another doctor to explain what was
actually happening and actually get physical therapy to start addressing the root cause and not just the
symptoms. I'm finally having fewer flare-ups and instances that are debilitating where I can barely
walk, and I'm happy for the progress and team that is helping me to navigate through this injury. My
latest appointment with my local cancer team brought some encouraging news — my labs are looking good
overall. My liver function has shown elevated results for over a year, so now we are looking into why it may
be. There could be a couple of reasons, one being chronic graft versus host disease (transplant rejection)
and it makes me a little nervous and stressed. It's a little scary, but I'm hopeful that my cancer
team and other doctors will get it figured out, and I can move on happily. I'm not naive to the
challenges that lie ahead, and the fear of relapse is always there, but I'm choosing to focus on the
present and trust that I'm stronger than this illness. I'm blessed to have an incredible support
system that lifts me up on the toughest days, and I'm grateful to every person who has been there to
listen or offer a helping hand. The love and encouragement from my tribe give me the strength to keep
pushing forward, even when the road ahead can seem uncertain at times. Cheers to another year in the sun and
the milestones I have yet to overcome!

A family portrait of
FELIX GROSS,
brother of Ignatz Gross, taken in 1910, has been added. This family stayed in Russia. One of the sons,
Gabriel, was imprisoned in a labor camp in Siberia and survived. He moved to Germany and passed away in
1976. One other son, Jacob, lived in Germany and passed away in 1960. Another son, Peter, is the one Br.
Placid wrote about. On July 20, 1937, he was taken in the middle of the night and sent to a labor camp in
Siberia. In March 1938 he died. The widow, Magdalina Welder, with her four children, migrated to Canada
after WWII. There is no information on the daughters, Elizabeth, Francisca, and Anna. Most likely they never
survived the brutal conditions in Russia during WW II. A great book that describes some of the atrocities
committed by the German Army and Russians to the people that stayed behind is "Children of Death" by Robert
Leo Heilman.

Message from Denise Winter:
As for Jack, he first fell ill back in August 2024. I thought he was having a TIA or mini stroke. I rushed
him to the ER and once there he started to have a seizure. They determined that he more than likely had some
type of encephalitis of unknown origin. After 2 weeks in the hospital, he came home but was not improving,
having memory issues and bouts of aphasia. After several scans over almost 3 months showing increased
involvement, they did a brain biopsy and tumor debulking after the initial testing during surgery at the end
of November. They determined after they tested it and found it to be several Glioblastomas, a very
fast-growing and aggressive cancer. He started chemo and radiation just after New Year's. He is currently on
maintenance chemo and is using a device called Optune. The optune is a set of electrical arrays he wears on
his scalp, and they create a TTField that disrupts the cell division of the cancer. There is no cure for his
cancer short of a miracle that we have all been praying for... but the treatment he is receiving can slow
down and temporarily stop new growth. Thankfully, this is a relatively painless cancer, at most headaches
which Jack has not experienced. They had no idea what could have caused it. Jack was extremely healthy up to
the event in August. Never smoked, never took drugs, was not on any prescriptions and had only the
occasional beer. One day he was finishing off cabinets he built in his shop and the next he was in the
hospital. For now, his tumor is stable and responding to the treatment. It's not shrinking, but it's not
growing. He is doing well, all things considered. Please keep him in your prayers as we believe that be it
God's will, miracles can happen. My best to all, Denise and Jack.
•July 11, 2025: UPDATE from Denise Winter, I just want to give you all an update on Jack.
His MIR showed improvement after one Avastin treatment. However, with his continued drop in platelets, even
with increased Nplate injections to boost them, he could no longer get Chemo or Avastin. They have
recommended the hospice stop all other treatment and continue with palliative care to improve his remaining
time. Most patients going this route have around six months. We have decided to make the most of what we
have by doing some things that were difficult to work around his treatments: doctor visits and labs. Keep
Jack in your prayers and ask our Lady for the grace of a peaceful passing when it's time to go home. Love
you all, hug a loved one and tell them you love them.
•October 2024:
Benjamin Gross,
son of Charles Gross and grandson of Joseph and Fran Gross...Ben had been a teacher in Korea for 14 years
and when he came to the US he got a job at a high school teaching college credit classes. The income was not
very much, so he applied to the US Government State Department and got a job where he would go from Embassy
to Embassy with his family and his title starting out was an Office Management Specialist. He will basically
be an assistant to the ambassador, and will have various office duties to support that role. And yes, Julie
taught while they were in Korea. However, right now she's not teaching because of this position Ben has. But
when they get settled in the new country they're living in, she will find something to do, or just be a mom
to Leo and support Ben in his role at the embassy. Oh, typically Ben's assignments are two years in length
or longer depending on where he will be.
•October 2024: Ben just had his first flag ceremony today, Friday, October 11, 2024, with the State
Department, which is when all the training classes in Arlington, VA are assigned to the country/Embassy that
they will work at for the next few years. He will be going to Addis Ababa, Ethopia in a few months when his
training is done. Of course, his wife, Julie, and son, Leo, are allowed to go.

Uncle Casper I. Gross:
Recently I was contacted by the Helena Police Department, Helena, Montana regarding Casper, Son of Ignatz
Gross who lived in Helena, Montana at the time of his death on March 14, 1968.
Casper was one of three people who perished in the Grandon Hotel fire. The Helena Police informed me that
someone recently confessed to setting up the Fire that burned the Grandon Hotel. As a result, they are
looking to notify the next-of-kin. I did give them access to this website. They will contact me next month
once they have more information to share.

I have some wonderful news to share!! Claudine is out of the hospital and is officially outpatient. Yay!! She is
doing amazing and is settled into her home away from home in Denver. Claudine will continue to have regular
appointments until she is cleared to go home to Rapid in the coming months.
Thank you to all the family and friends that continue to be in Claudine’s corner during her journey. People like
you are what makes all the difference to have a positive impact for Claudine to push through the days that are
hard. Her journey to a healthy life will take time. If you are able to, please consider donating to help towards
her medical expenses.
Claude Gross is in the hospital, as of
last week, with COVID. He will probably be there for a few days longer. His oxygen intake is high, and they
want it to be lower before they release him, per Diane Bates, his daughter.
Diane Bates was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a few months ago. She had surgery and was informed that the
cancer had been successfully removed. She completed her chemo treatments. She will have a CT scan this week.
Thereafter, she'll start a medicine that's supposed to lower the chances of getting cancer back.
Claudine Bates, daughter of John and Diane Bates, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), on
November 24th, after experiencing abdominal pain. AML is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that
progresses rapidly without immediate medical treatment. She was immediately flown to the UCHealth in Aurora,
Colorado. She experienced some side effects of chemotherapy, which have been challenging for her.
Yesterday, Claudine was informed that one of her siblings is a perfect match to be her bone marrow donor.
This means she'll start her next round of chemotherapy and the stem cell transplant much sooner, per
Claudine.
Please keep Diane and her daughter, Claudine, in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
As noted by Kristine Bates:
Claudine has a long road ahead of her and will need to get another round of chemo before she can have the
stem cell transplant. She will stay in the hospital for approximately one month after the transplant. After
the transplant she will need to live within 30 miles of the hospital for outpatient care daily and have a
caregiver 24/7 for 2-3 months. Please consider making a monetary donation to help with the burden of medical
costs while she is away from home getting treatment.

Our sister,
Darlene Gross Pritchett,
died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, at her home in Mission, Texas. Evidently, she had
a stroke of some kind. Darlene had no known illnesses. Her memorial service was on Saturday, September 24,
2022, in Mission, Texas. She will be sorely missed by all.
Her husband, Paul, will be cared for by his daughter, Linda. Linda lives in the upper part of Wisconsin.
Paul lost his sight about six-eight months ago. The doctors never did determine the cause of his blindness.
In my opinion, Darlene's heart failure and Paul's blindness were the results of the COVID-19 vaccine shots.
Paul suddenly lost his eye sight shortly thereafter, and Darlene's heart failed a few months later. Paul had
no diminished eyesight, and Darlene had no medical condition previously.

UPDATE:
Emily's hemoglobin level is still low. She's still off the Olaparib pills. Yesterday, her
oncologist said they should have a decision next week on how to proceed. Emily still has backaches and nerve
pain in her legs. She'll have another CT scan as soon as her insurance approves it and it's
scheduled.
August 6, 2019
UPDATE:
A visit to Emily's oncologist, today, found her hemoglobin level low, a side effect of Olaparib. Emily
has to stay off the Olaparib pills for a week or two then restart with possibly a weaker dosage.
July 25 2019
UPDATE:
Emily (Gross) Boullet
is under a clinical trial at OHSU for Metastatic Triple Negative Breast Cancer with the treatment of
Olaparib/Durvalumab. She has to take two olaparib pills every 12 hours. Durvalumab is an infusion (IV)
administered every 28 days for 12 cycles. Emily completed her first 28-day cycle on July 23. At this time,
we don't know when OHSU will share the results.
Olabparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by inhibiting some of the enzymes (ADP ribose polymerase
(PARP)) needed for cell growth. Durvalumab, a monoclonal antibody, inhibits the growth and spread of tumors
by stimulating the patient's anti-tumor immune response.
Fun Fact: My body metabolizes anesthesia very fast, I require copious amounts of it. But pain meds? Complete
weenie!!
Due to my upcoming liver biopsy Tue, I was told no more Ibuprofen or Norco. The only 2 things that even
touch my pain. No more Percocet but straight Oxycodone is ok, except for my body hates both of those so I
don’t take it. Pain was so severe yesterday I went to my radiation oncologists for help. She doesn't
want to zap my right hip because it'd force my trial start date back 2wks. So instead treat pain with
meds. She prescribed Dilauded and my medical oncologist prescribed Tramadol. My pain spiked last night and I
took a Tramadol, it got me totally sick high and didn't touch my pain. Eventually I was able to take a
Dilauded and get to bed, but it left me in a drug coma: I was totally coherent but couldn't move or
open my eyes... and yet still in pain. I was able to get a few hrs of sleep, woke up feeling good. For about
a hour. Pain returned so I took another Tramadol in hopes of it helping. Nope. I feel like I'm on a
speeding carousel - no joke I'm spinning like crazy, can't turn my head at all. The best part?
STILL IN PAIN. I just can't catch a break!!!! It's super frustrating because I know that 800mg of
ibuprofen is all it takes to relieve my pain and I'm not allowed to be on it.

feeling blah. In case you were wondering radiation is kicking my butt. My hips hurt SO bad, they shoot nerve
spasms and bone pain from my butt to ankles. Standing, sitting, laying all hurts. At times the pains so
intense I end up extremely nauseous. Yesterday I made it to Paisleys Kindy promotion and that 30min took me
down HARD last night. I slept over 6hrs in a row for the first time in 8 nights, and woke up to Joey next to
me. Finally he's home. I may look 'fine'and not have the physical burns like I did with the
breast rads, but this round it's 110% internal. I've been told this will get worse before it gets
better so I'm praying that I'm on the mend and past the worse part. I'm getting bored with tv
and laying around but have learned if I do too much for the moments I feel really good, I pay for it. So
slow and steady it seems is the best way. Ugh. Thank you for everyone who checked on me this week and
brought us meals, it really helped with the chaos. My parents have been godsends and by my side practically
24hr a day.

feeling exhausted. Met with my radiation oncologist today because of my pain yesterday (and last night and
this morning). She said what I'm experiencing it a very very faint cancerous spot on the
'cap' over my femur. It's not an alarming spot but it's the placement and the fact that
it's on the outside of my bone. So to battle that I'll get one good blast of hip rads tomorrow
after my last spinal rads. It should help with pain for the next few months. The goal is to not add to rads
as I have to be off of it for 2wks to start my clinical trial. My liver biopsy is scheduled for the 25th and
I should be starting my trial on the 27th! So very grateful my parents are able to practically be living
with us right now to be 'mom and dad'while I'm down and Joey is traveling for work. And
again, thank you for all of your support!!

Here's info on TNBC, and no I don't carry the BRCA mutations. However I will be participating in
an immunotherapy clinical trial starting this month. About this website
The differences are microscopic but also monumental.
How Is Triple Negative Breast Cancer Different from Other Diagnoses?
So... if you're wanting an update, here it is in a nutshell!! I completed my 7th out of 10 spinal
radiations today. My back is fine from being thrown out last Sunday BUT it is not ok from rads. Due to the
location we're hitting, any inflammation will cause irritation to my nerves going down my groin and
into my hips. I am on 800mg ibuprofen every 6hr and daily from 4-7pm I'm curled up in a ball twitching
and sometimes in tears. Today the dr said this is normal and all part of the “it'll get worse before it
gets better”. Next week Joey is gone for work training and I know that's when the pain realistically
escalates. I'll be relying on my support system greatly. I DID get my genome results back and do
qualify for that clinical trial. Yesterday I had 10 vials of blood taken and an EKG. Today I had to go up to
OHSU and have new CTs as a baseline for the study. This is all great news!! I will have a liver biopsy on
the 24th and start 28 days of treatment pills on the 26/27th. After the 28 days, an immunotherapy infusion
and another liver biopsy. Then I begin my normal cycles of 28 days of pills and day 28 an infusion.
I'll have PET scans every 3mo to make sure this is stopping progression or reversing it. If it's
growing or I have bad side effects, I'll stop and find another treatment. BUT I could be on this for
YEARS and practically 'fine' so that's my goal. My DR is VERY excited for this and it looks
promising. Please know if you reach out I do read it even if I don't reply. Don’t stop reaching out!!
It keeps me going. The love and outpouring is stunning. I'm open to any questions about any of this you
have so feel free to ask away. Thank you all once again.

Emily's post on Facebook...
So what's the scoop?? Yesterday I was scheduled to meet with my oncologist and get my Fight Plan.
Unfortunately my genome testing results are not back yet as we knew it may take a few weeks. I now have an
appt on the 3rd to review them and get my plan then. Today I met with my radiation oncologist for what was
suppose to be my 6mo post rads check-up, but was a mapping session for my spine. To reduce the pain we need
to radiate the cancer on my spine. It was interesting though... I haven't asked exactly where my
'spots' are or how many are where because frankly I don't want to know right now. I learned
there are discrepancies between my CTs and PET scan. So that makes me hopeful! The dr said for sure
there's a spot on my spine (which I know because it hurts), one test shows another but the other test
does not. Same with my femur (no pain), left looks normal in both and the right shows a bit in one but
normal in the other. So for now we're just targeting the one spot on my spine that causing pain, and if
we find the other possible spot becomes an issue then we will deal with it when the time comes. But hoping
the systemic treatment will attack all of that. Tomorrow I begin my first of 10 daily radiation sessions,
June 12th is my projected end date. By then I should have my Fight Plan ready to begin whatever it may be. I
am all for this plan so far! Oh and happy birthday to my mama!!

was still in a 'zombie state', trying to process everything that I tried to ignore over the
weekend as I celebrated my birthday on Sat and coached cheer all day Sunday... along with 2 kid birthday
parties. I had my ECG (heart ultrasound) to make sure I'm strong enough to endure another port placed,
whenever I need to do that. I had to shut down. I was so emotionally wrecked and exhausted to my core that I
just couldn't function. So I spent the day curled up on the couch until it was time to go to my late
afternoon appt with my oncologist to review the results from last weeks brain MRI. I had convinced myself
that I was going to be told I had 2-3mo to live... that's how awful this battle can be mentally. Joey
and my mom flanked me to my appointment and my oncologist informed us that THANK GOD it is NOT in my
brain!!! This is the best news we could hope for. The relief that flooded through all of us is
indescribable. I feel like I can breathe and live again. Yes, it's still metastatic, yes I'll
still have to enter treatment very soon, yes it's going to be a long road, yes it’ll be a hard
battle... but my options aren't limited even further by having it spread to my brain. For this
information, I'm so eternally grateful and thankful. As far as treatment goes, all we know is our goal
is immunotherapy first. We are waiting on genome testing to figure out what exact mutations my cancer has so
that this therapy can specifically target and destroy them. Essentially training my body and blood on how to
spot and kill them. We're hopefully my mutations will match up with a clinical trial at OHSU right now
that is just for Triple Negative Metastatic patients. It would require 2 liver biopsies, daily pills on a 28
day cycle and an immunotherapy infusion every 28 days. If my mutations don't qualify, there are other
things available, we just haven't gone too in detail on any of it until we know what mine are. I will
also meet with my radiation oncologist next week to figure out how to treat my spine for pain. It should be
5-10 small doses of radiation to my spine where it’s causing pain with the idea that it'll reduce the
cancerous area and therefor reduce my pain. This doesn't excite me, but if it gets rid of my back pain
I'm game. Thank you to all of you who wished me a happy birthday, donated to Breast Friends of Oregon
($536 raised with a goal of $200!!!), and a HUGE thank you to each of you for sharing my Free Funder link
and contributing to that. We are so appreciative and blessed to have a support system so wide and strong.
Also a special thank you to the people who have reached out personally, even when you don't know what
to say it helps to know you're thinking of me. This is a terrible journey I wish upon no one but it
helps to have each of you.

Update: Emily's brain scan showed no cancer. Thank God! Today, she met with the palliative care team.
We'll find out next week whether Emily is a match for genome treatment.

It is with a heavy heart that I make this entry. Our daughter, Emily's, test results came back today.
Her cancer is back for the third time. This time it is in the pelvis, liver. spine, femur, and lymph nodes.
The next test is whether it has spread to her brain. The treatment is to be determined. Her cancer is the
aggressive kind. She just completed her oral chemo treatment on March 31 and was diagnosed with no signs of
cancer.
Please pray for our beautiful and wonderful daughter, her husband and beautiful children, Ella 8, and
Paisley 5. We're trying to keep the daily routine as normal as possible as not to disrupt the
children's lives. The children only know their mommy isen't feeling well.
The following is Emily's post on Facebook:
Emily Boullet is feeling devastated with Joey Boullet.
15 hrs ·
2wks ago I asked for prayers. I had a fab time in San Diego with my Breasties but something inside just
wasn't right. When I got home, I was in a LOT of pain with what I assumed was gallstones. 2hr after I
arrived, I was in the ER for an ultrasound and CT before surgery for gallbladder removal. Except it
wasn't my gallbladder, it was a 3cm lesion on my liver. Once my oncologist got all of my results, she
went at this full bore as if my cancer was back. I had additional CTs, PET scan and liver biopsy all last
week. The biopsy HUUUUURT to recover from. Anyway, didn't want any results over the weekend since we
were to go on our annual Seaside girls trip with my mom. However I hurt so bad Friday morning we had to
cancel.
I had an appointment with my oncologist today to go over everything. I'll cut to the chase: I went from
stage 1 NED (no evidence of disease) to now Stage 4 metastatic. What does that mean? It means that my triple
negative breast cancer was found in my liver, pelvis, spine, femur and lymph nodes. I will have a brain MRI
very soon and those results along with some genome tests will determine my course of treatment. This is no
longer curable BUT it is very treatable. I should be in treatment again by June 1... June 25 marks 1yr since
i was done with IV chemo. This SUCKS. Will I cold cap again? I don't know yet - it all depends on what
chemo I go on, frequency and hair results. I will probably do some immunotherapy, but that's all I know
about that.
My oncologist cried, the office staff cried, we all cried. I'm numb. I'm scared, angry, terrified,
numb, nauseous, really every emotion in the book. We haven't discussed much with the girls yet, so
please don't. They will know that mommy's boob cold came back, and I'll probably say in my
liver because they know my backs been hurting from my liver. They'll know I have to take the bad mommy
medicine again and it may be like before. But beyond that, it'll be on an as needed basis... so leave
that up to us. We will accept all of the prayers, juju, vibes, etc you can send our way. No I don’t know
what I need right now or what you can do, so please don't ask. I think once I have my Fight Plan I will
have a better idea of what life will look like. We will fill you guys in again on that.

Miracle of Lanciano - If this doesn't make
one a believer in Christ then probably nothing will.
Physician Tells of Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano
Edoardo Linoli Verified Authenticity of the Phenomenon
MAY 05, 2005 00:00 ZENIT STAFFUNCATEGORIZED
ROME, MAY 5, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Dr. Edoardo Linoli says he held real cardiac tissue in his hands, when some
years ago he analyzed the relics of the Eucharistic miracle of Lanciano, Italy.
The phenomenon dates back to the eighth century. A Basilian monk, who had doubts about the real presence of
Christ in the sacred species, was offering Mass, in a church dedicated to St. Legontian in the town of
Lanciano.
When he pronounced the words of the consecration, the host was miraculously changed into physical flesh and
the wine into physical blood.
Later the blood coagulated and the flesh remained the same. These relics were kept in the cathedral.
Linoli, a professor of anatomy and pathological histology, and of chemistry and clinical microscopy, and
former head of the Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy at the Hospital of Arezzo, is the only doctor who has
analyzed the relics of the miracle of Lanciano. His findings have stirred interest in the scientific
world.
At the initiative of Archbishop Pacifico Perantoni of Lanciano, and of the provincial minister of the
Franciscan Conventuals of Abruzzo, and with authorization from Rome, in November 1970 the Franciscans of
Lanciano decided to have the relics examined scientifically.
Linoli was entrusted with the study. He was assisted by Dr. Ruggero Bertelli, retired professor of human
anatomy at the University of Siena.
Linoli extracted parts of the relics with great care and then analyzed the remains of “miraculous flesh and
blood.” He presented his findings on March 4, 1971.
His study confirmed that the flesh and blood were of human origin. The flesh was unequivocally cardiac
tissue, and the blood was of type AB.
Consulted by ZENIT, Linoli explained that “as regards the flesh, I had in my hand the endocardium.
Therefore, there is no doubt at all that it is cardiac tissue.”
In regard to the blood, the scientist emphasized that “the blood group is the same as that of the man of the
holy Shroud of Turin, and it is particular because it has the characteristics of a man who was born and
lived in the Middle East regions.”
“The AB blood group of the inhabitants of the area in fact has a percentage that extends from 0.5% to 1%,
while in Palestine and the regions of the Middle East it is 14-15%,” Linoli said.
Linoli’s analysis revealed no traces of preservatives in the elements, meaning that the blood could not have
been extracted from a corpse, because it would have been rapidly altered.
Linoli’s report was published in “Quaderni Sclavo di Diagnostica Clinica e di Laboratori” in 1971.
In 1973, the Higher Council of the World Health Organization (WHO) appointed a scientific commission to
verify the Italian doctor’s conclusions. The work was carried out over 15 months with a total of 500
examinations. The conclusions of all the researches confirmed what had been stated and published in
Italy.
The extract of the scientific research of WHO’s medical commission was published in New York and Geneva in
1976, confirming science’s inability to explain the phenomenon.
Today, Linoli participated in a congress on Eucharistic miracles organized by the Science and Faith master’s
program of Rome’s Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University, in cooperation with the St. Clement I Pope and
Martyr Institute, on the occasion of the Year of the Eucharist under way.
“Eucharistic miracles are extraordinary phenomena of a different type,” Legionary Father Rafael Pascual,
director of the congress, told Vatican Radio. “For example, there is the transformation of the species of
bread and wine into flesh and blood, the miraculous preservation of consecrated Hosts, and some Hosts that
shed blood.”
“In Italy, these miracles have occurred in several places,” he said, “but we also find them in France,
Germany, the Netherlands, Spain ” and some in North America.

After submitting a DNA example to 23andme.com it shows that we have a relative by the name of Dale Rowekamp
in the range of first to second cousin to me. He was adopted after three days after his birth in 1974 in
Helena, Montana. He's looking for his birth mother. Dale stated that his birth mother was around 16-17
years of age and had two brothers. Dale is married with four children and is a teacher. He said he turned
out alright. When doing searches on the 23andme.com relatives by the name of Keller, Miller, Klein and
Schall, then Dale Rowekamp shows as a relative. When I did searches on Kraft and Fiest then Dale didn't
appear on the list. This could be an indication that Dale is related to us from the Heilman side.
If anyone has any information to help Dale find his birth mother please let me know and I'll forward it
to Dale.
DNA Relatives on 23andme.
Ambrose's daughter is Judith Jasperson, and Judith's daughters are Kristin Walden and Kara Mooney.
Rodney Nawn is Bill and Carla's Nawn's son, and grandson of Joe and Fran Gross. The others on the
list I don't know without doing some research.

For approximately the past three months Ambrose Gross has been at the Spring Creek Health Care Center, 1000
East Stuart Street, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525. He's in the memory care unit. He's improving
from Afib-atrial fibrillation. The swelling in his arms, and legs has gone down some from what Tammy, his
daughter-in-law, has said.
March 15, 2018
Joe Gross was put on hospice on March 6 when he had a recurrence of was septicemia and failing to respond to
the antibiotics. The doctors said there is nothing further they could do. He was transported home. At this
point, he spent most of the time sleeping and periodically waking up. He was very weak and could only raise
his forearms. Then, in the morning of March 9 Joe had somehow gotten out of bed and was sitting in the chair
next to the bed when Kevin entered his bedroom. Joe asked to get dressed. Kevin got him dressed, placed him
in the wheelchair and wheeled him into the kitchen area. I got there a couple hours later and they were all
sitting at the kitchen table eating soup and cheese sandwiches. Keeping this in perspective, it appeared in
the days prior to this that Joe wouldn't survive another day. He was off his medications and had little
water and basically no food intake. As of March 14, Myron said they took him off hospice and into palliative
care. They got him on antibiotics and resumed his medications. Joe is gradually regaining his strength back.
Joe is wheelchair bound. He has difficulty talking and remembering. Joe told Myron and Kevein he still has
things to do. I'd say his recovery is nothing short of divine intervention and the outstanding care
from Myron and Kevin.
Joe celebrated his 92nd birthday on March 2.

Correction: Emily's treatments will consist of...
Four Chemo sessions over eight weeks.
Twelve Chemo sessions over 12 weeks.
Surgery to remove the tissue.
Six weeks of radiation.
In addition, Emily is getting the Penquin Cold Cap treatment during each Chemo session and four to six hours
thereafter. This consists of a cooler, 50 pounds of dry ice to cool the gel caps. The cold caps are changed
every 25 minutes. This is quite painful and taxing. This process should prevent most hair loss.
January 31, 2018
The PET scan results of our daughter, Emily, shows only one tumor. She'll start eight Chemo treatments
over the next sixteen weeks following with surgery to remove the tumor. Then, following surgery she'll
go through radation treatments. The doctors are optiimistic based on the current findings.

In June of 2017 Emily Boullet, our daughter, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had a double mastectomy.
Emily was informed that the operation was successful and she needed no further treatment. Last week, January
2018, she noticed a lump below the breastline. The diagnoses came back positive, yesterday. It's an
aggressive type of cancer. She is being scheduled for Chemo, surgery and radiation. Needles to say, it was a
shock. She's deeply saddened and dealing with it best she can. We ask for your prayers for her at this
time.

The hosting company that hosted this website went out-of-business without my knowledge. The website had been
down for the past two weeks. I subscribed with another hosting company and finally managed to upload the
website. However, the "Back" button on some pages is not working. There may be other functionalities not
working that I haven't found. As time permits I'll be reviewing the code and troubleshooting. If
you find pictures missing please let me know.
My intention was to retire from the US Bancorp after 40 years of service, however, with the current economic
downturn and political climate I decided to continue working. As you all know, the well capitalized and well
managed banks got dragged down by the large poorly managed banks. US Bancorp, my employer, is one of the top
tier banks in the country. Hopefully, if there is an economic recovery and I'm doubtful based on the
political direction, then the banks should recover within time.

A sincere "thank you" to all of you on providing your family history that made this
possible. This is your family web site. Every effort is being made to secure this web site from robot
search engines. Please share this web site with family and friends.
Since this is the first edition, please review your family data for errors and provide me the
corrections. The GrossFamilyTree is a work in progress and needs your input. Sent me any appropriate data
you want added to the GrossFamilyTree. Your contribution is what makes this a historical account to be
shared with this and future generations of Gross descendants. Periodic updates will be made as
warranted. All updates to the family tree will be published in this newsletter.
If you are using the Netscape Browser the print will be quite small, no background on the pages, and
overlaying of some print. My recommendation is to switch to another browser. In time, I will attempt to
resolve the Netscape Browser problem.
To facilitate navigation between pages, on most family pictures you can place the mouse curser over the

On December 25, 2001 the Gross family lost one of its members, Daniel Francis Gross, son of Francis and Kathy Gross. Daniel was a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Daniel was a remarkable young man. He
scored a perfect 800 on the math and science portion of the SAT exam and was in the process of choosing a
medical school to attend. Keep Daniel and his family in your prayers and thoughts.
Brother Placid in 1979 compiled the "Gross Family History" that focuses on our ancestors and his
side of the family - John Gross. This web site focuses on the Ignatz Gross family, brother of John Gross.
One other brother, Joseph Grosz, has their family tree as compiled by Pius D. Waldman at:
www.ancestry.com. These are the three sons, John,
Joseph, and Ignatz, of Andreas Grosz and Francisica Eberle who migrated from Russia to the United States.
Once the Carl Gross family history is current, then, I will focus on the rest of the Ignatz Gross family. If
you have information about any of Ignatz Grosses children and spouses, please email it to the
GrossFamilyTree below, or email bobxgross@comcast.net. Otherwise, mail it to me at the following address:
Robert Gross

All pictures, articles, etc, will be returned to the owner, as soon as they are recorded for the
GrossFamilyTree.
