Year 2011: Administrative Director of the Heart Institute. This includes
Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Heart and Lung Transplantation,
Research and Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. I am responsible
for all the operations and issues of the Heart Institute,
including budget, marketing, planning, just anything related
to the Heart Institute. I have a manager in Cardiology
reporting to me, and indirectly through him, all employees in
Cardiology. I have a nursing manager who handles clinical
staff, but the nurses in CT Surgery still report directly to
me (7 Nurse Practitioners, all Transplant Program Staff, Case
Manager, Research Nurse Coordinator, and all office
personnel).
I have been at Childrens Hospital LA for 25 years. This is my
anniversary year.
November 2014: I was awarded the "Barbara Gross Cardiac Nurse Award" by
the Heart Ambassadors at Children's Hospital
It is an inaugural award named for me and will be awarded to a cardiac nurse at CHLA every year.
It was very exciting and very much a highlight of my career.
