Richard and his brother Jim spent a few summers on their grandfather's (my dad's) farm in Hague, North Dakota. My mother enjoyed having the boys for the summer. There was a lot of sibling rivalry between the two, and as a result, my mother would end up washing the clothes they dirtied by wrestling in the dirt almost every day. During one summer Jim needed eye drops applied daily and it was a chore getting those applied. The boys, being from a large city, truly enjoyed their stay on the farm. Uncle Bob Gross
